Little Princes Book Review

Conor Gernnas was a very well writer. I am so impressed not only by the way the author presenting his experience but also by the stories he went though. At first Conor Grennan want to travel round the world and wanted to do something completely different in his life. He just go to in Nepal take advantage of finish hid traveling. However, he life was changed when he arrived at a thorp name is Gon and he work for an orphanage. Conor Gennan know about these Nepal orphanage and get along with them. He make huge decide that he want help children to found their parents.

Volunteering in an development country is not what we imagined and we just can't picture it. The author was almost broken down during his first days in Nepal by the completely different environment, culture shock and the war. It is an impact that great enough that can change one's life expectation and it is what we are seeing in the book. Even a short term volunteering at the Little Princes, Cornor was luckily enough see find the need of human nature and his missionary and this brought him back to Nepal years later. He wasn't thinking about a profound success in Nepal and so does other NGOs. Cornor did what others did, simply starting from the kids nearby, and then  against a dangerous trafficker, feeling hopelessly when dealing with fighting Nepal system and eventually risking his own life trekking into the mountains of villages seeking children's family. All this comes out from a common man like you and me.

One may ask, "how does he get all these motivations to put his years in a remote place?" From my understanding, the answer is very simple. It comes from the inner of everyone. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.(John 15:12-13 New international Version) as god's word goes. This is so simple that one my not accept it and I understand it. It is hard for anyone not in the situation to get the idea.

I have a friend who is volunteering in Ghana right now. She has been there for weeks. I phoned her several times. She is suffering from the culture shock at the beginning and then she find the beauty of the country and kindness of villagers. I cannot see through her words. Though I cannot feel the impact but I can tell from her voices that she feels something different. Maybe we don't what it is now, but both of us agree that it will emerge one day and that is a turning point.
